The University of Minnesota announced Monday that it will play in the 2025 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game hosted by the University of Denver at Ball Arena, home of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, over Thanksgiving weekend 2025. The exact date will be announced following the 2025-26 NHL schedule release.
“Those of us with the United States Hockey Hall of Fame Museum are very excited to have two of college hockey’s premier programs faceoff in our Hall of Fame Game at Ball Arena in 2025,” said Doug Palazzari. “We wish to thank both schools for agreeing to take part in this prestigious event.”
Minnesota will make its ninth appearance in the event since 2000 and holds a 4-4 record in the previous eight games. The Gophers faced the Pioneers once in those contests, when Denver traveled to face the Maroon and Gold at Xcel Energy Center in a game won by Minnesota, 5-2, on Oct. 9, 2004.
The former WCHA foes will battle for the first time in more than 10 years since being members of that league as they last played a series March 1-2, 2013. The Gophers dropped the series opener on their home ice before earning the split with a 5-1 victory.
