(Minneapolis, MN)  —  Amaya Battle put up a career high 32 points as the Gophers beat Rutgers in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament 77-69 last night at Target Center.  For the Gophers, it’s their first Big Ten Conference Tournament win since 2020 and also stopped a four game losing streak the Gophers were riding into the tournament.  Battle shot 10 for 20 from the floor and drilled another 11 from the foul line and also handed out seven assists.  The 11th seeded Gophers also got 12 points from Grace Grosholski as they improved to 16-14 on the season and will advance to face sixth seeded Michigan on Thursday night for an 8 P-M tip.
