(Minneapolis, MN) — Gopher kicker Dragan Kesich booted a 47 yard field goal at the horn as the Gophers completed a rally to beat Nebraska 13-10 in their season opener at Huntington Bank Stadium. MNN sports director Mike Grimm had the call of the game winning kick on the Gopher Radio Network:
Daniel Jackson caught a 13 yard pass from quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis that tied the game 10-10 with 2:32 left in the game. Tyler Nubin followed that up with his second interception of Nebraska Q-B Jeff Sims to set up the game winning drive. Kaliakmanis was 24 of 44 for 196 yards and Jackson caught nine balls for 68 yards. The Gophers have beaten Nebraska five straight times. They’ll host Eastern Michigan on September 9th to try and run their record to 2-0.
