The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team’s schedule for the upcoming 2024 regular season. The Lynx will tip off their 26th WNBA season, presented by Mayo Clinic, in Seattle against the Storm on Tuesday, May 19 at 9:00 p.m. CT, marking the 10th time in club history opening the regular season on the road. Minnesota will then return to Minneapolis to open the home schedule against Seattle on Friday, May 17 at 8:30 p.m. CT.
The 2024 campaign features the second year in the league’s 40 regular-season game format that will span from May 14 through Sept. 19. Full season memberships are available by visiting lynxbasketball.com/membership or calling 612-673-8400. Single-game tickets will be released at a later date.
Minnesota’s 20-game Target Center schedule includes 13 weekend games (five Friday, four Saturday and four Sunday) and seven weekday games (one Monday, three Wednesday and three Thursday). The Lynx will close out the first half of the season against the Connecticut Sun on July 4 after returning from three games on the road (June 27-July 2). Minnesota’s schedule will also feature two back-to-backs this season, with the first occurring on May 25 and 26 (against New York and at Atlanta) and on Aug. 23 and 24 (vs. Las Vegas and Indiana).
The first portion of the schedule will lead up to the league’s 20th All-Star Game, which will take place in Phoenix at the Footprint Center. This will be the first time that an All-Star game will be played the year of an Olympic Games. Following the game, a four-week pause will begin as those selected to play in Paris will depart and those remaining will participate in various team activities. Game action will return once for
Minnesota against the Washington Mystics on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
Various key dates marked in the first half of the season include the notable matchup against the two-time reigning WNBA Champions Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday, May 29 at Target Center and once again in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 11. The five games beginning on Sunday, June 2 against Dallas through the matchup at Las Vegas on June 11 will all be qualifying games for the Commissioner’s Cup, set to take place on June 25. This will also include the game on Wednesday, June 7, which will be played at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Cali.
The Minnesota Lynx will also have two preseason games set to occur the week prior to the start of the regular season. The first will take place against the Chicago Sky on May 4 with a tip set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Target Center. The second game will follow four days later on May 8 in Washington against the Mystics at 10:30 a.m. CT.

• By month, the schedule breaks down as follows: May (four home, three away = seven total), June (six home, five away = 11 total), July (four home, three away = seven total), August (three home, four away = seven total) and September (three home, five away = eight total).
• By day, the schedule breaks down as follows: Monday (one home), Tuesday (six away), Wednesday (three home, three away = six total), Thursday (three home, two away = five total), Friday (five home, four away = nine total), Saturday (four home, one away = five total), Sunday (four home, four away = eight total).
• Minnesota’s 20-game home schedule will feature four different starting times (all times central): seven games tip off at 7:00 p.m., four games will commence at 6:00 p.m. and two at 6:30 p.m., two games will begin at 12:00 p.m. two are set for 2:00 p.m. and three games will start at 8:30 p.m.
• The Lynx will begin the regular season schedule one against Chicago on Friday, May 19 marking the fourth time in franchise history the club has opened the regular season against the Sky. Minnesota has defeated the Sky in all three regular season debuts so far, most recently on May 25, 2019 at Target Center.
• On five occasions, Minnesota will face the same opponent in consecutive games: Los Angeles (6/11 and 6/16), Seattle (6/27 and 6/29; 8/18 and 8/20), Connecticut (7/30 and 8/1) and Dallas (8/22 and 8/24). Four of the five sets will include both a home and away game, except when the Lynx visit Connecticut on July 28 and August 1.
• Minnesota will enjoy a season-long, four-game homestand from June 14-June 22 (vs. Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Phoenix). The Lynx will also have two three-game homestand: May 29-June 2 (vs. Las Vegas, Phoenix and Dallas) and July 14-August 15 (vs. Indiana, Atlanta and Washington).
• The most consecutive road games this season for the Lynx are three strings of three: from May 25-30 (at Phoenix, Las Vegas and Dallas), June 16-20 (at Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Los Angeles) and July 8– July 18 (at Chicago, Indiana and Seattle). Minnesota will also have four stretches of two consecutive road games: June 3-7 (at Washington and New York), June 29-July 1 (at Seattle and Phoenix), July 30-Aug.1 (at Connecticut) and Sept. 8-10 (at Chicago and Indiana).
• The Commissioner’s Cup presented by Coinbase, the WNBA’s in-season tournament, will take place for the fourth season with changes occurring from the original format. With the reconfigured structure for the WNBA’s in-season tournament, each team will play a total of five Commissioner’s Cup games, one against each of its in-conference rivals. All games played during the two-week period from June 1-13 will be Commissioner’s Cup qualifying games. The team from each conference with the top record in Commissioner’s Cup presented by Coinbase games will compete for a half-a-million-dollar prize pool in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship presented by Coinbase on Tuesday, June 25.
