(Minneapolis, MN) — A federal jury has found a Red Lake woman guilty of child neglect and endangerment on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Court documents say between January 1st, 2021, and April 29th, 2022, 46-year-old Bobbi Jo Johnson, a.k.a. Bobbi Jo Kingbird, engaged in, aided, and abetted the endangerment, neglect, and abuse of a child who was in the foster care of her sister and co-defendant, Trina Mae Johnson. The abuse included withholding food to the point of starvation, forced standing in uncomfortable positions for long periods, and assault that caused the victim “serious and substantial” physical, mental, and emotional harm. Three other defendants pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment, and all five defendants will be sentenced at a later date.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge will be off limits for the next two years as it undergoes reparations. MnDOT crews began construction this morning (MON, 5 a.m.) on the St. Anthony Main side of the bridge. Built in the 1880s, the bridge connects two sides of Minneapolis over the Mississippi River. Detour routes to get across the river now surround the bridge.

(Cannon Falls, MN) — Police in Cannon Falls say a suspect is dead after leading authorities on a nearly 30-mile chase Sunday night in southeastern Minnesota. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect vehicle refused to pull over for police in West Concord and rammed a squad car. A Cannon Falls patrol car chased the vehicle into a hospital parking lot, where officers say the driver displayed a gun and then shot himself. Investigators say no shots were fired by law enforcement during the incident. The Minnesota B-C-A is leading the investigation.

(Aurora, MN) — A 27-year-old woman is in custody in connection with a stabbing Sunday afternoon in Aurora on the Iron Range. The East Range Police Department says a 63-year-old man was found with an apparent stab wound to the abdomen and airlifted to a Duluth hospital. No word on his current condition. The suspect ran from the scene, and officers warned residents to remain indoors because she was considered armed and dangerous. A K-9 officer helped locate the woman hiding in a wooded area. She was arrested and received medical attention for minor injuries.

(Undated) — A Red Flag warning is posted for 13 counties in southwestern Minnesota from noon to 8 pm today (Mon) due to increased fire risk conditions. National Weather Service forecasters say fires can spread quickly and easily progress out of control with strong winds and low humidity. Residents should not burn yard waste or debris while the warning is in effect and should check for recent burnings to ensure the fire is completely out. The affected counties are Brown, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, Watonwan, and Yellow Medicine.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Timberwolves lost their final regular season game 125-106 to Phoenix at Target Center Sunday and will have to face the Suns in the N-B-A playoffs. The Wolves had a chance to secure the top spot in the Western Conference before getting blown out by Phoenix. Rudy Gobert led Minnesota with 21 points and seven rebounds. The number-three-seed Timberwolves will host the sixth-seeded Suns in Game 1 of the playoffs on Saturday. Phoenix won all three matchups with Minnesota during the regular season.
