The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired outfielder Manuel Margot, minor league infielder Rayne Doncon and cash considerations from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for minor league infielder Noah Miller.

Margot, 29, hit .264 (82-for-311) with 21 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 38 RBI, nine stolen bases, 18 walks and 39 runs scored in 99 games for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023. He was acquired by Los Angeles-NL on December 16, 2023 with right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow in exchange for outfielder Jonny DeLuca and right-handed pitcher Ryan Pepiot.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pound outfielder has hit .255 (667-for-2612) with 133 doubles, 25 triples, 52 home runs, 283 RBI, 197 walks, 91 stolen bases and 315 runs scored in 788 career major league games with San Diego (2016-19) and Tampa Bay (2020-23). Margot owns a career .988 fielding percentage in 521 career games in centerfield; since 2016, his 25 defensive runs saved in center are tied for 13th most in the majors, per FanGraphs. He was originally signed by Boston as an amateur free agent in 2011 out of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, made his major league debut with the Padres in 2016 and finished sixth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2017.

Doncon, 20, spent the 2023 minor league season with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, hitting .216 (92-for-427) with 21 doubles, one triple, 14 home runs, 52 RBI, three stolen bases and 62 runs scored in 107 games for the Quakes. The 6-foot-2, 172-pound infielder was originally signed by the Dodgers in January 2021 and has hit .237 (181-for-765) with 41 doubles, four triples, 29 home runs, 113 RBI, 70 walks, 16 stolen bases and 116 runs scored in 200 career minor league games. A native of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, Doncon is currently listed as the No. 23 prospect in the Los Angeles-NL system, according to MLB.com

To make room for Margot on the 40-man roster, the Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Josh Winder on the 60-day Injured List with a scapular stress fracture.
