(Winnipeg, Manitoba) — Despite missing a number of key bodies the Wild flew into Winnipeg out of the Christmas break and beat the Jets 4-1. Marcus Foligno missed the game with injury, Jake Middleton missed with illness and Mason Shaw served the first of his two game suspension yet the Wild still got the win. Jared Spurgeon and Mats Zuccarello scored 64 seconds apart in the first period, Freddy Gaudreau made it 3-1 in the second and then former Gopher Sammy Walker scored his first N-H-L goal into an empty net to seal the victory. Filip Gustavsson made 31 saves in the win. The Wild notched their 10th win of December and 20th of the season as they pulled to within a point of the Jets for second place in the Central Division. The Wild host the Stars on Thursday night at 7 P-M at Xcel Energy Center.
