(Baxter, MN) – A fugitive wanted on federal charges was arrested in Baxter, Minnesota. The U.S. Marshals Service North Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 24-year-old Ryan Henry James Davis Pacheco on Monday. He was wanted on a federal warrant for a supervised release violation and multiple felony charges stemming from a firearm incident in Mahnomen (mah-no-men) County. According to documents, Pacheco was wanted on state charges including attempted second-degree murder along with assault and firearm charges. Marshals say he was taken into custody without incident.

(St. Paul, MN) – A group of DFL state lawmakers expressed their concerns today at the State Capitol over the multiple healthcare mergers currently proposed in Minnesota. This comes as community members and healthcare workers have been pushing for a Community Benefits Agreement that prioritizes patients and healthcare workers in potential acquisitions of both Allina Health by Sutter Health and Essentia Health by HealthPartners. DFL House Caucus Leader Zack Stephenson (DFL-Coon Rapids) said these types of mergers will be a priority when the legislature convenes in January. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is currently reviewing these merger proposals.

(Minneapolis) – Thousands of Twin Cities residents are expected to gather this Saturday for a No King’s Voter Participation event. Unlike previous No Kings events, organizers say this will not be a march or a protest. Instead, they say it will be a day of nonpartisan voter participation and the rally will support citizens’ right to vote and encourage voting before election day. The event is scheduled for The Commons in downtown Minneapolis.
