(Washington, D.C.) – A bipartisan bill co-sponsored by Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar to boost breast cancer awareness among young women is headed to the U.S. House. The Senate has approved the EARLY Reauthorization Act, which continues a federal program focused on education, risk awareness and early detection. Supporters say younger women often face more aggressive forms of breast cancer and are diagnosed at later stages. The legislation also supports outreach, survivor networks and provider education.
>>Wolf Prevention Grants Available
(Undated) – Minnesota livestock producers can now apply for state grants aimed at preventing wolf attacks on their animals. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is offering a total of 25-thousand dollars in federal funding through its Wolf-Livestock Conflict Prevention Grant program. Eligible expenses include guard animals, fencing, wolf-deterrent lights and calving shelters. Producers in Minnesota’s wolf range have until December 18th to apply. The grants will reimburse up to 80 percent of approved project costs.
>>Minneapolis Man Sentenced in Twin Ports Drug Case
(Duluth) – A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in the Twin Ports. Forty-two-year-old Marcus Aaron Johnson received a 64-month sentence after admitting he conspired to sell or possess cocaine and fentanyl between October 2025 and January of this year. Prosecutors say Johnson is one of several defendants charged as part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation led by the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force.
>>Cemetery Damaged by Suspected Drunk Driver
(Sauk Centre MN)- It’s estimated a suspected drunk driver did $50,000 in damages when he crashed into a cemetery near Sauk Centre early Saturday morning. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says they believe 19-year-old Daniel Meza of Long Prairie was driving eastbound on County Road 17 around 3 a.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at a T-intersection, crashed through a stone wall and ended up in the Greenwood Cemetery just outside of Sauk Centre, hitting several grave markers. Meza called 911, then hung up. He was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.
>>Boelter Attorneys Seek Gag Order on Hoffman Family
(Minneapolis, MN) — Attorneys for Vance Boelter are asking a judge to restrict public comments ahead of his state trial. The defense filed a motion Monday seeking a gag order covering Senator John Hoffman, his wife Yvette, their daughter Hope and other potential witnesses. Prosecutors say they do not object but want any order to also cover Boelter and others involved in the case. The request follows Friday’s hearing, when Yvette Hoffman called the proceedings a “clown show” and called Boelter an expletive. Boelter’s state trial on murder and attempted murder charges is scheduled to begin November 2nd.
>>Two Missing Hunters Found in Near Hibbing
(Near Hibbing, MN) – Two missing hunters were found in St. Louis County on Monday. The St. Louis County Rescue Squad and sheriff’s deputies responded to an area near Hibbing. Authorities launched a drone and found the hunters a short time later. A 40-year-old man from Duluth and a 39-year-old woman from Hibbing were located by authorities on ATVs. No injuries were reported.

The top team during the W-N-B-A regular season is trailing its best-of-three first-round series 1-0 after dropping Game One to the New York Liberty on Sunday, 91-75. Minnesota hopes to keep its season alive when it visits New York for Game Two tonight at 7:30 P-M.
