The University of Minnesota men’s golf team closed out the Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday with a final-round score of 289 (+5) to finish tied for 15th place at Coldstream Country Club.
The Golden Gophers posted rounds of 293 (+9), 283 (-1) and 289 (+5) to finish the 54-hole event at 865 (+13). Minnesota improved 10 strokes from its opening round on Monday and recorded two team rounds of 289 or better during the tournament’s final 36 holes.
Liberty captured the team title at 843 (-9), finishing ahead of TCU. Liberty’s Michael Lugiano earned a share of medalist honors at 9-under par alongside Cameron Kuchar of TCU.
Jack Crousore led Minnesota for the tournament, finishing tied for 28th at 1-over par. The junior carded rounds of 72, 70 and 72 while recording an eagle and six birdies across the three-day event.
Notable Performances
Torger Ohe finished tied for 48th at 3-over par after rounds of 72, 71 and 73. The sophomore posted four birdies during the final round and finished among Minnesota’s top two scorers on Tuesday.
Chun-Ta Wu climbed 22 spots during the final round after firing a tournament-best 69 (-2) on Tuesday. The junior finished tied for 36th overall at 2-over par and was one of only a handful of players in the field to break 70 during the final round.
Joe Honsa concluded the tournament tied for 67th at 7-over par. After opening with a 75, Honsa responded with rounds of 70 and 75 and recorded seven birdies during the event.
Making his collegiate debut, Finlay Galloway finished 94th overall at 14-over par. The freshman posted rounds of 76, 76 and 75 while gaining experience in his first tournament representing the Maroon and Gold.

Minnesota returns home Sept. 20-21 to host the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. The annual home event will feature teams from across the country competing on one of Minnesota’s premier golf courses.
