>>Eden Prairie Homecoming Game Evacuated After Shooting
(Eden Prairie, MN) – Police continue investigating after a shooting outside the Eden Prairie High School homecoming football game forced officials to evacuate the stadium. Police Chief Matt Sackett said in a news conference that two people were shot and taken to HCMC with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not able to confirm if those shot were students or adults. Sackett said the shooting happened outside the stadium in a parking lot. No suspects are in custody. The game was postponed. No announcement from the district yet if the game will be made up or if school will be held on Monday.
>>Four People Rescued from Capsized Boat in Becker County
(Burlington Township, MN) – Four people were rescued from a capsized boat Thursday night on Eagle Lake, just southwest of Frazee. When law enforcement arrived, they discovered a paddle boat with a trolling motor had flipped over. One victim was able to swim to shore but authorities found the other three people hanging onto the boat. One victim was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with unknown injuries. Two others were taken to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth victim was not injured. A deputy sergeant, Frazee fire chief and four citizens helped rescue the victims. The initial investigation shows the paddle boat started taking on water then it flipped over.

(Windom, MN) – A Cottonwood County court sentenced a man for killing his own mother in Windom. Jamie Lee Voelker was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison for his role in the July 2025 shooting death of his mother, and a break-in of a neighbor’s residence. Voelker plead guilty to second degree murder and first-degree burglary.

(Anoka County, MN) – The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect gas been arrested after two abduction attempts in the Twin Cities. Law enforcement says the incidents happened in Ramsey and Coon Rapids. In both cases, a teenage female reported being approached by a male in a vehicle. In one case, the victim says the suspect sexually assaulted her. Police say the use of license plate readers, known as Flock cameras, led to the arrest of the suspect. He is awaiting formal charges.

(Minneapolis) – Workers from over a dozen unions will join community organizers and social justice activists this afternoon in Minneapolis to rally and march against ICE violence and the federal prosecutions of Minnesotans accused of organizing protests against Operation Metro Surge. After rallying at Peavey Plaza, the supporters will march to the Minneapolis Federal Building after short stops at corporate targets where the unions will demand accountability for their silence during the deadly Operation Metro Surge. This week, the family of Renee Good filed two civil lawsuits against the federal government for the ICE shooting that took her life.

(St. Paul, MN) – This week, Governor Tim Walz issued an executive order to allow farmers, loggers and truckers add to their loads to save trips and money on diesel fuel. Now, two DFL Senators on the Agriculture Committee want the governor to do more. Senate Ag Chair Arik Putnam (DFL-St. Cloud) and Ag Vice-chair Rob Kupec (DFL-Moorhead) asked the governor to give farmers a break by using lower taxed red dyed diesel on roadways. Putnam said it could save farmers up to 32 cents a gallon. They say the governor must do more to help our farmers with skyrocketing costs.

(Minneapolis) – The “Little Brown Jug” is on the line today in Minneapolis. The oldest rivalry trophy in the country, the jug goes to the winner of the Minnesota-Michigan football game. The Wolverines have won the past five meetings and control the all-time series at 78-25-and-3. The last Gopher home win in the series in Minneapolis came in 1977. In fact, the Gophers have only won the game four times since they last won the Big Ten title in 1967. Minnesota’s last victory against Michigan came in 2014 in Ann Arbor. Today’s kickoff is set for 11:10 A-M at Huntington Bank Stadium. Both teams are 3-1 this season.

(St. Paul, MN) – The Minnesota Wild open the home schedule tonight in hosting the Boston Bruins at Grand Casino Arena. The Wild opened the season Thursday night with a 3-1 win at Nashville. The Bruins have won their first two games this season. The puck drops for the Wild and Bruins at 7 p.m.
