>>Vance Boelter Back in Court Monday

(Minneapolis, MN) — Vance Boelter is scheduled to appear in Hennepin County court today (8:30 a.m.) for a hearing on a temporary gag order and a request to delay his state trial. A judge issued the temporary gag order last week, limiting public statements by Boelter, his attorneys, prosecutors, witnesses and potential witnesses. Boelter’s defense is also asking to postpone his state trial, currently scheduled to begin November 2nd, citing the amount of evidence they need to review. Boelter has pleaded not guilty in the state case. He previously pleaded guilty in federal court for the June 2025 attacks that killed former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and wounded state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.

(Eden Prairie, MN) — Eden Prairie students will be in class today following a shooting outside the school’s homecoming football game on Friday. Two people were injured in the shooting, which police described as targeted. Neither victim was a student at Eden Prairie or Minnetonka high schools, and both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. School officials say counselors and other support staff will be available to students and staff as they return to school. The shooting remains under investigation.

(Fillmore County, MN) — Fillmore County officials are reporting three confirmed cases of measles in southeastern Minnesota. According to county health officials, all three individuals were unvaccinated, and the cases are connected. Officials are warning that additional cases could be identified in the coming days or weeks. Measles is a highly contagious respiratory illness that spreads through the air. Symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose, and red or watery eyes. A rash can also develop. Health officials continue to monitor the situation and are encouraging residents to stay alert for symptoms and take appropriate precautions.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Metro Transit is increasing its safety presence following a fatal shooting aboard a Green Line train Saturday night. Police say an adult passenger was shot on an eastbound train traveling from Minneapolis toward St. Paul. The train stopped at Westgate Station, where the victim was found and later pronounced dead. The suspect reportedly left the train shortly after the shooting, and no arrests have been made. Riders can expect an increased security presence as the investigation continues.

(Perham, MN) — A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Sunday evening after colliding with a deer in Perham Township. According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s office the rider was transported to a local hospital before being flown by Life Link Air Ambulance to a higher-level care facility. At last check the victim remains in critical condition.

(St. Paul, MN) — Four Minnesota-made products have been named finalists in the Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota competition. The contest began with 64 products from manufacturers across the state before public voting narrowed the field to four finalists. The finalists showcase Minnesota manufacturing across several industries, including recreation, mobility, aviation and medical technology. The winner is expected to be announced Tuesday at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Manufacturers’ Summit.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Victor Shitsama and Lilian Chebii are the winners of the 2026 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Shitsama, 28, won the men’s race in 2 hours, 12 minutes, 20 seconds in his marathon debut. Andrew Kaye finished second in 2:12:36, followed by Amanuel Tikue in 2:12:58. Chebii, 32, won the women’s race in 2:25:26, breaking a course record that had stood for 25 years. Jane Bareikis finished second in 2:32:04, while Caroline Hill was third in 2:33:26. Both winners were born in Kenya. The 26.2-mile race started in downtown Minneapolis Sunday and finished at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.
