The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with TE Josh Oliver. The deal will keep Oliver with the Vikings through the 2028 season.

During the 2024 season, Oliver posted single-season career highs in receiving yards (258) and receiving touchdowns (three) and tied his career best in receptions with 22 in 15 games, including 12 starts. He also recorded 50 receiving yards in consecutive weeks for the first time in his career with his Week 9 (58 yards) and Week 10 (52) performances. According to Pro Football Focus, Oliver led the NFL among TEs with a 74.2 run blocking grade in 2024 (minimum 50% block snaps played) and earned the fourth-highest grade during the 2023 season with a 73.9.

Oliver boasted the second-highest rating among all TEs in 2024 with at least 20 targets, catching 22 of his 28 targets for 258 yards and three touchdowns for a 140.8 rating, according to Next Gen Stats. Only Baltimore’s Mark Andrews, who hauled 55 of his 69 targets for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns, finished with a better rating of 140.9.

A native of Paso Robles, Calif., Oliver was originally signed by the Vikings as a free agent in March 2023. He totaled 44 receptions for 471 yards and five touchdowns in 32 appearances, including 26 starts, in his first two seasons in Minnesota (2023-24).

Oliver, who was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round (69th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of San Jose State, spent two seasons (2019-20) in Jacksonville before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens in March 2021. In two seasons in Baltimore (2021-22), Oliver registered 23 catches for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 31 games, including 10 starts.
